This blog is truly amazing. They took the food mentioned in my favorite book series - A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin- and transformed them into recipes that can be easily followed. I am currently travelling, but will be trying out some of them as soon as I am back home. It would just be awesome to read the books while having a snack that was mentioned in the book.
Yes, I am a Geek... and I love food... so?

None of us alone
We are none of us alone
even as we exhale it is inhaled by others
the light that shines upon me shines upon my neighbor as well
in this way everything is connected
everything is connected to everything else
In this way I am connected to my friend even as I am connected to my enemy
In this way there is no difference between me and my friend
In this way there is no difference between me and my enemy
We are none of us alone

Offensive Vintage Ads
All I can say is WOW. These ads would never pass in todays' world. Women and black people were portrayed as weak and inferior, while the "male whitie" was smart, superior, better dressed and just the boss really. Here are a few for you to see for yourself.

Amazing Paper Dresses
Amazing Paper Dresses
Amazing doesn't even begin to describe them. Afterwards, they simply destroy those works of art. They spend hundreds of hours in production, only to be destroyed in a few minutes I am guess. Still, they are pretty damn awesome!

On the ability to dream
I think one of the best things about being Human is posessing the ability to dream. When we dream, we process the day's events, sift through and discard the unimportant while archiving and saving the important. Dreams give us the chance to see loved ones that are too far to be seen and most importantly, it allows us to work through our feelings.
Whenever I feel angry or upset, my dreams help me through it. I have been feeling down lately and the worst part is that I couldn't talk to anyone about it as I knew it would only make me feel like a horrible, terrible person. So, I kept it locked in, eating away at my insides. This went on for almost 3 weeks when finally last night, in my dreams, I screamed, shouted, let everyone know exactly what I was feeling and why. I was free to feel and woke up feeling lighter and happier. Although I do feel as though i have been screaming in real life- i am drained of energy.
I do not know why exactly we have the ability to dream, or whether we really are the only species that actually does dream. What I do know is that dreams help us maintain our sanities... by remembering, forgetting, exploring or plain ol' screaming at the top of our lungs.
Here's to our dreaming abilities!

On March
This month has been a really busy one so far. My sis et family are here on a visit and we are all happy to have her and the little ones around again. The house is always buzzing with noise and activity only children can make. My father is so cute, he can not get enough of the kids and my 2 year old niece plays the "hurt and misunderstood" part so well she breaks his heart. She really manipulates him to get her way, and she is so good at it! Ahhh, KIDS!
On Thursday I went on a desert safari with some friends and it was fun. They had dune bashing, belly dancing, camel rides and even sand boarding! The sky was lovely and it was a full moon at night. LOVELY.
Today is Mothers day here so we celebrated it with flowers, cards and cake.Mom was super happy, which is always nice to see. Happy Mother's Day to all Mama's out there!

7 Billion
National Geographic brings us a series that everyone should be interested in:. 7 Billion people and one planet!!
Basically it tells you what the "typical" face of those 7 billion is, how the resources are currently being divided and the rate at which the population keeps growing. It is a campaign that is directed at raising awareness to the way wealth, services and natural products are currently being used and to shed a light on what we should do to better manage them.
