I cracked up when I saw these today. They truly made my day and so, I share them with you in the hopes that they will do the same for you:

Samsung Galaxy Phone

This is an Ad for the Samsung Galaxy Phone, starring my friend Mani.

Well, well, well... what can I say? Let me start off by saying that it always feel good when you see your friends in a youtube video, in a movie, in a show etc. Suddenly, you find yourself with a huge grin on your face and your heart is just filled with love and emotion. Secondly, the phone truly is great. My sister has it and she sings its praises on a daily basis. It is fast, reliable, powerful, and easy to use. The only reason I'm still a blackberry chick is because a) I can't be bothered to transfer contact info and calender info from one phone to the other; and b) the phone is a little too big. It's wider than the Iphone even and thus, it won't fit in most of my clutches. c) Samsung has really turned itself around and has embraced technology, it is not imitating the Iphone, but innovating in its own way.d) I am team anything NOT IPHONE =D

Having said all that I should mention one of its many cool features, its 8 megapixel camera. It is AWESOME! Mani keeps taking pictures of our lovely professors and sending them over to me when I'm in the next class. It keeps us entertained and sane.

 This is really what life has become. How many relationships do you have that are mostly on line? I communicate with my sis, her kids, B and C on line as there are oceans, mountains and vast lands between us, not to mention the horrible 9 hour time difference. I live in cyber space. I sleep, eat and drink there. It is where I am most myself, and if I ever am in a relationship, I know I will be more comfortable communicating using 0s and 1s with him rather than talking face to face. As long as I have a vehicle to connect with (Phone or laptop) and a cup of coffee/tea next to me, I am happy and content. The world comes to me, rather than me going to it. It is so convenient, so simple, so EASY to lose yourself in cyberspace. All the roads may lead to Rome -in this case Rome is whatever spot I am sitting in-, but it only takes one to lead out of it and into the glorious world wide web.

We should all remember to sign out, log off ,shut down and go out to have some human experience. We, as humans, are losing that and we need to get it back.

The Seven Kingdoms of Westeros: Amazing map!

This truly amazing and breathtaking map was made by a long-term Westeros.org member names Other-in-law. It has a picture of almost everyone, including The Wall, Ghost the Direwolf, Lord Tyrell and Tyrion Lannister at Casterly Rock, has Jamie Lanister as one of the kings guard at the bottom of the map, Meera hunting for frogs in the Neck, the hound on his horse, and many many more. I think the two characters right below the Seven are Prince Rheagar Targaryen and Lady Lyanna Stark, one representing Fire, the other ice respectively.

I was thinking today what the term #FF meant in twitter. So, I went onto the internet and I found the most perfect definition, and I share it with you:

I was bored, so I went on Google.com and decided to google myself. The Internet is truly one freaky place.

A. I found that this website called spoke.com or something has a profile of me, and they have me down as currently working for the first company that ever hires me. I never even hear of this site, yet there I am.

B. I found pictures of my messy apartment back when I used to have my OWN apartment in a city far, far away. I had forgotten that I entered a messy house contest on a blog, and I never imagined they would end up on google. Honestly, I never imagined they will appear on the blog itself. I never checked back till I found the pics now. Needless to say, I lost that contest, and thank God for that. Some houses are scary messy.

What's frustrating though is that, when you are looking for something in specific on google, it can fail you. I guess some things are better left unseen and ungoogle-able.

Once deleted, can text messages be retrieved?

Yes they can, so if you’ve been having an affair or doing something dodgy at work, beware! Messages are laid out on the SIM card as data files. When you move messages around or delete them, the data actually stays put. All you’re doing is telling the phone to point at the files in different ways. Deleting a message from the inbox, for instance, just tells the phone not to point to it any more when it’s listing the contents of that folder. Even when you ‘permanently’ clear messages, you’re simply getting the phone to stop listing it in the deleted items folder. You can’t recover such texts on the phone itself, but there are plenty of commercially available software packages you can buy that allow your PC to read data directly from a SIM card. Some of the more advanced tools figure out the file structure on the card, thus allowing those long-hidden deleted messages to be resurrected.

On books...

... and once again, I find myself blogging about books, or rather, their endings. I can not explain just how anxious I become when I reach the last 100- pages of a book. I start to get depressed, ill-tempered and I lose all sense of humour. I just become this angry person, and all that because when I reach the end of a book, I am overcome with dread. I want to finish the story, I want to know what happens. I want to help the characters escape/survive/celebrate/mourne etc, but I also do not want to lose their company. I guess it is just stilly, but every time I read a book, I feel as though the characters are real, they live, breathe, move, eat, sleep, and talk in my mind. I can see them clearly in my mind's eye, and I get attached to them. There really is no other word to decribe this feeling but attachement. They become friends by the time I finish reading the book, and saying goodbye to them, well, it just brings up bad memories. I hate saying goodbye to people I care about. It is probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, and I am not even considered an emotional person! Everyone thinks of me as toughskinned and aloof, and yet, the though of saying goodbye sometimes brings me to tears- when I am all alone, of course!

And so, back to my point, another book ends, another story is closed. It is a comfortable thought knowing that you can revisit whenever you want, yet also disturbing because you know the characters are caught in this vicious cycle that is stuck on repeat.

In case you are wondering, I just finished reading The Cloudmages Trilogy by S.L Farrell.

On Lego...

Ok, I admit it... when I see some Lego pieces lying around, I can't help but rush over to put them together. That is why, I LOVE this idea: Lego Ice-cube trays. Don't the ice cubes look magnificent? Think of all the fun you can have by trying to come up with a creative sculpture before you run out of time and it melts. Amaaaaazing!

Seriously, I do not know where my posts decided to disappear to and get lost. I lost a previously published post and a new post I was writing.

Oh well, not like I will go through the motions of writing everything again. Whatever, I guess they weren't meant to be on blogger in the first place...

Miniature Earth

This is an interesting video mirroring the distribution of people, wealth, power, resources etc. Of course, you should keep in mind that it is based on statistics compiled in 1990, so it is just an estimation, and is therefore not an accurate portrayal of how things are today.
